Waiting for the Sun

Winter lingers too long.
Snowflakes dissolved into poems
Months ago,
Yet the steel jaw of sky
Won't give up the Sun.

Spring is in a straightjacket
Somewhere,
Wanting to
Reveal its skin -

The memory of healing
Simmering
Under mine.
